With this installation ‘We Harvest Wind’, artist Thijs Biersteker empowers visitors to be agents of change. By shifting to green energy, individuals can effortlessly reduce their carbon footprint, one of the few impactful actions we can take in the midst of the climate crisis.

Often we feel powerless in this climate crisis. Using green energy is one of the few things we as individuals can do.
— Thijs Biersteker

The interactive installation allows visitors to activate the fans and bring the wind-powered world to life themselves.

The artwork is based on the research of, and in collaboration withPolestar, highlighting the sustainability advantages of charging electric vehicles with wind energy.

We are trying to raise awareness around green energy. Biersteker’s installation is part of that initiative. He is a really interesting artist and it’s been great to witness how he turned our Life Cycle Assessment into a piece of art, and to now see it exhibited in the progressive and beautiful Stedelijk Museum. Charging green is such an important factor in unleashing the full potential of electric cars, on our journey to making them climate neutral.
