Part of inaugural exhibition at Amsterdams first museum for new media art

Nxt Museum, Amsterdams first museum for new media art, commissioned Thijs Biersteker to make a work for their inaugural exhibition ‘Shifting Proximities’.

For this new work Thijs Biersteker collaborates with pioneer of plant neurobiology and defender of the notion of plant intelligence, botanist Stefano Mancuso.

The museum will open on 29 August 2020 with immersive installations by pioneering artists, designers, technologists and scientists.

‘Shifting Proximities’ is an exhibition of seven room-sized works, including four new commissions, that will run for up to 12 months

Artists are amongst others the multimedia collective United Visual Artists, Marshmallow Laser Feast and body architect Lucy McRae.
